As more companies continue to restructure in order to get out of the recession, some are finding themselves having to change management around. This could mean that more MBAs are taking the helms of some well-known companies.
GTC Biotherapeutics recently announced a new $7 million secured convertible debt financing through its strategic partner, LFB Biotechnologies. Additionally, their board member, William Heiden, would become the company's new chairman, chief executive officer (CEO) and president.
Not only does Heiden hold an MBA degree, but he has also served in some executive positions within the sector. Prior to his newest promotion, he served as the president and CEO of Elixir Pharmaceuticals, and was the president and chief operations officer (COO) for Praecis.
"I am looking forward to a bright future at GTC under the leadership of GTC's new CEO, Mr. William Heiden," Christian Bechon, president and CEO of LFB, said. "I have known Bill for several years and have great confidence in his ability to successfully lead GTC into its next chapter."
If you're interested in climbing the ranks of your company, an MBA degree may be able to help you achieve that goal.
