It's a common practice for companies to pick individuals with MBA degrees for various executive positions because the degree comes with a higher understanding of how the business sector is run.
Inuvo Incorporated, which focuses on performance-based advertising, recently announced the appointment of Wally Ruiz as the company's new chief financial officer (CFO). Ruiz, who also has an MBA degree, has a vast experience in the financial sector.
Up until this appointment, Ruiz served as the senior vice president, CFO and treasurer for SRI Surgical Express, which supplies management services to hospitals and surgical centers. Experts credited him with driving the turnaround of the $100 million company.
Executives for Inuvo noted Ruiz's past experiences holding executive positions and said they thought he would be a good fit for the company.
"Wally is a performance-based executive with experience at both private and public companies," said Richard Howe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Inuvo. "His solid track record of success at companies in their startup, turnaround and growth phases aligns well with Inuvo."
If you're interested in one day holding an executive position, an MBA degree may be able to help you achieve your goals.
