A group of MBA students in California recently had the opportunity to learn all about focus and discipline from some people who are more than qualified to discuss such matters - U.S. Marines.
According to a recent report in the Imperial Valley News, over 50 MBA students from the University of Southern California at Marshall made their annual visit to the large Marines base at Twentynine Palms to gain more insight on successful strategies.
One student, Julian Timmerman, told the newspaper that the Marines "incorporated even more leadership scenarios into the weekend and increased the accountability we had for each of the decisions we made," with an emphasis on being prepared for any scenario as well as solving problems as a team and functioning well under pressure.
While not every MBA student will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from U.S. Marines, the skills featured at this event are something that will benefit anyone seeking an advanced business education.
