The newly-crowned Ms New Jersey is Margaret Skourlis, a student in the Master of Business Administration program at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. She will compete in the Ms. United States Pageant in Las Vegas this July.
Skourlis is a member of the Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society, and graduated cum laude from C.W. Post in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. She obtained a paralegal certification program and a Masters in political science before beginning her quest for an MBA degree.
This past semester, Skourlis enrolled in a social entrepreneurship class.
"The social entrepreneurship class was the reason I joined the pageant," Skourlis said. "We had to create a business for our final exam that helped the community but also could bring us a profit. The title I won is used to help the community for fundraisers and also I get paid to participate in certain events."
Margaret Skourlis is taking advantage of the opportunities her MBA degree brought her. If you have big dreams, maybe it is time to get the tools to go after them by enrolling in an MBA program.
