If you're interested in pursuing an MBA degree with a focus on healthcare management, chances are you'll enjoy good career satisfaction.
According to the Healthleaders Media Industry Survey 2009, over 87 percent of industry leaders reported that they were "very satisfied" or "satisfied" with their current positions.
Nearly 80 percent in the survey said they would encourage their own children to pursue healthcare careers, largely due to the satisfaction and stability these jobs tend to offer.
Looking ahead, the industry leaders also had some differing opinions on which areas of healthcare will offer the strongest potential in the coming years. In that category, about 22 percent expect cardiology to provide some of the strongest revenue growth over the next several years. Other leading industry areas included orthopedics (13.87 percent) and imaging (12.23 percent).
Many of these areas of medicine are expected to grow as the Baby Boom generation approaches retirement age and requires access to more specialized health services.
For professionals who want to become successful healthcare administrators, an MBA degree is a great way to help you achieve that goal. Opportunities are expected to only grow in healthcare in the coming years, setting the stage for many new and exciting opportunities in the industry.
