A new website launched by Tina Brown, the former editor of Vanity Fair and the New Yorker, may be of interest to you if you are currently working in communications or considering a move to the industry.
The Daily Beast is for "busy, globally curious professionals and news junkies", its executive editor Edward Felsenthal tells PR Week.
It will feature 30 per cent of original content, along with blogs and columns written by Brown, which you may have already come across if you work in the sector or have been researching communication online MBAs for a career move.
Furthermore, Felsenthal tells Pr Week that they hope the website will draw people to it because of "the choices we make: what we select, our take on why we picked it and what to make of it".
Areas that may be studied on a communications online MBA include risk and crisis communications, public relations, advertising and organizational development, issues you may agree could be seen as increasingly important in a media-centric business world.
Meanwhile, the Center for Risk Communication has published a report about organizational development.
It found that with the increasing potential of IT in disseminating information, situations involving low trust and high concerns need effective communications.
