While there are still some jobs in the United States, many MBAs are noticing that they may have to go abroad for career opportunities. On the other side of the spectrum, many companies are globalizing, creating a need for people with knowledge of international policies and business practices.
According to the New York Times, MBA programs have recently been changing their curricula in order to meet the needs of the globalization trend. Students are also being taught new ways of thinking, such as understanding a multicultural and historical context.
"If I'm going to really launch you on a career or path where you can make a big impact in the world," Garth Saloner, an MBA dean told the news provider. "You have to be able to think critically and analytically about the big problems in the world."
If international management interests you, it may be beneficial to pursue an MBA degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, many prestigious positions in the field required an MBA degree.
