Prospective business students are advised to take many different things into account to make sure they get the most from their MBA degree.
This week, Palo Alto Software founder Tim Berry offered prospective students some advice in a U.S. News and World Report column.
First, the entrepreneur advises students to consider their MBA education a "luxury" that is best pursued without considerable sacrifice or hardship. He also cautions against seeing an MBA program in strict financial terms, noting that "you have to look for additional value in learning, knowing and applying techniques, and life satisfaction."
For undergraduate students, Berry also suggests studying what truly interests you, no matter what field that is, unless you are already very interested in pursuing a business career. "First, learn how to learn, and communicate, and research, and analyze," he advises.
For many students, an MBA degree is a life-changing experience that offers new career and financial possibilities in a wide variety of business specialties around the world. If you are interested in furthering your business education, now is a great time to examine the full range of online MBA programs and traditional classroom programs that may be available.
