Employers want self-motivated workers, critical thinkers and lifelong learners - all of which apply to those who have studied for an online MBA, a report says.
A white paper commissioned by Western Governors University has revealed that online learning has become widely accepted, which could be encouraging news if you were worried about how stepping back into education would be perceived.
Furthermore, employers realize that this flexible way of learning is appropriate for busy career-driven professionals, researcher George Lorenzo, publisher of Educational Pathways, notes in the white paper, the International Business Times reports.
Commenting on the findings, Lorenzo continues his report by saying that as more job candidates participate in distance learning programs, "the word has spread among executives, human resource professionals and hiring managers that online higher education graduates are focused employees with strong work ethics".
Another benefit that may come from studying for an online MBA program is the concerns of Alysa Teichman in a Business Week blog about the cost of attending business school, a problem you may not encounter by learning this way, as well as continuing in your profession.
