The environment has been a hot topic of discussion in the past few years as government officials are growing more concerned with the amount of waste that businesses are producing, which is affecting the climate. As a result of this, some MBA programs are beginning to offer environment courses to help MBAs gauge how to handle climate change.
These programs are teaching MBAs about the environment and ways to manage waste and social responsibility, according to the Wall Street Journal. Some education analysts believe that these kind of teachings will help improve the environment over time, as more people are becoming educated in the issues.
"Integrating this as part of how you think as a business leader will definitely allow more opportunities to be perceived, as opposed to only risks, in the area of sustainability," Aileen Ionescu-Somers, an MBA director for sustainability management, told the news provider.
Some schools are seeing such an increase in demand that they're expanding their green MBA programs, according to the Daily Journal of Commerce.
If you're interested in learning more about sustainability, an MBA program may be a way to enter the field at an executive level.
