The concept of the Green MBA, an MBA degree based around environmentalism and sustainability, continues to gain traction, as Marylhurst University recently added an online MBA program in sustainable development and Anaheim University has seen a surge in enrollments in their own version of a green MBA.
"With governments around the globe also starting to focus on the environment," said Anaheim University representative Darrell Nelson, "it is exciting to see our sustainable management programs becoming the courses of choice for students the world over, who can then help to implement positive change at their places of work."
Marylhurst University provost David Plotkin said that his school has, "collaborated with industry leaders to create a relevant and compelling curriculum in sustainability. Each course has been written to incorporate the important issues pertaining to the green movement."
The 2009 federal stimulus bill put aside $62 billion for spending on green projects, with an additional $20 billion in tax incentives, which is expected to increase jobs in sustainability in every industry. If the bottom line for you isn't just profit, but people and the planet as well, maybe it is time for you to look into enrolling in an MBA program that is right for you.
