Because MBAs have more knowledge of their sector due to their education, they often move to higher level positions at a faster rate than individuals who just have bachelor's degrees. As a result, MBA degree holders are often chosen for executive positions.
Joseph Capper, who has an MBA degree, was recently appointed the president and chief executive officer (CEO) for CardioNet, which focuses in wireless medical technology for diagnosing and monitoring cardiac arrhythmias.
In addition to having an MBA degree, Capper has served in various executive positions. Prior to this appointment, Capper was the president, chief executive officer and member on the board of directors for Home Diagnostics, a company that manufactures diabetes management products.
"After a thorough and comprehensive search, CardioNet was fortunate to identify Joe as an excellent candidate with the experience and track record to join CardioNet as our President and CEO," CardioNet board of directors chairman Randy Thurman said. "Joe brings an outstanding background as CEO of medical diagnostic companies and has an excellent foundation in sales from his early Bayer experience."
If you're interested in climbing the corporate ranks, an MBA may be able to help you achieve your advancement faster.
