Many students want to pursue an MBA degree in the hope that they can be guaranteed job security. An MBA can offer an individual the knowledge needed to successfully run a company, which could make them a valuable asset to their business.
The United States Oil & Gas Corporation (USOG) recently announced that their chief executive officer (CEO), Alex Tawse, an MBA, can keep his position for the next three years, effective on February 1st, according to CNN Money. He has held the position since 2008.
In addition to keeping his job, Tawse was also appointed to the company's board of directors.
Tawse has an extensive business background. Aside from getting an MBA, he spent 10 years as the chief financial officer (CFO) and vice president of operations for the Kaizen Institute, a consulting company that has big-name clients such as Nike, Bacardi and Kraft. He has dealt with both service and manufacturing companies during his career.
Because MBA programs are often vigorous, some managers take note of the dedication that goes into pursuing the degree, which might make you a more desirable employee.
