A global MBA university has offered its alumni a chance to keep up-to-date with their business knowledge by allowing them to return to the school to take elective classes for free.
The Hult International Business School will extend this option to approximately 4,500 of its MBA degree holders for the rest of their career, but they will be limited to taking one elective course per year. Upon completion, the student will receive a certificate showing they finished the class, according to the school..
"In today's fast-moving environment, business school graduates need to continually upgrade their skills to stay competitive," said Robin Nurse, director of the school's MBA career services. "This is particularly important in an economic downturn, since many employers carefully evaluate their talent base."
The school will offer the elective classes at its Boston, London, Dubai and Shanghai campuses. Nurse added the initiative will also help business professionals save money since other business schools typically charge $2,500 for one elective course.
For those who did not graduate from Hult, this may be a cue to look into enhancing their career through an MBA program or extra business courses to keep on top of the changing industry.
