MBA program provider Colorado State University (CSU) has released findings of a study into the effects of health-promoting foods on cancer.
The university's Cancer Prevention Laboratory found that a diet containing dry beans had an inhibitory affect on breast cancer, while potatoes were another potential food which could be beneficial in the fight against the disease, CSU reports.
Professionals considering a health management MBA and interested in medical advances may be encouraged to hear the comments of Elizabeth Ryan, Assistant Professor at the university and Research Scientist at the laboratory.
"We hope that the results from our research may help plant breeders influence which cultivars or varieties of beans or potatoes, for example, are grown and made available in the supermarket," she said.
In related news, the Healthcare Financial Management Association reports that online consumer-focused public reporting has been endorsed by the National Quality Forum.
This new public approach may be one aspect taught on an online MBA in health management, which could cover topics including policy analysis, health resource reviews and health financial management.
