Famed investor Warren Buffet made news recently by saying the U.S. is in the midst of an "economic Pearl Harbor," but he still expects the economy to eventually recover.
An Associated Press report quoted Buffet from his appearance Sunday on Dateline NBC. The wire service noted that the Nebraska billionaire had said that the current economy is not as bad as it was in World War II or the Great Depression, and cited a fearful economic climate that compounds itself by driving away other potential investors.
"We'll break out of it. It takes time," Buffet was quoted as saying.
Many economists have predicted a difficult 2009 to be followed by eventual economic recovery in 2010. With that in mind, many professionals are deciding that now is the best time to begin work on an MBA degree, with an eye on the opportunities that will await them upon graduation.
MBA degrees help professionals acquire new skills that make them better at their jobs or give them opportunities to compete for new jobs. More and more MBA graduates are also learning firsthand how important their newly acquired skills can be as they establish their own businesses.
