Though it's been plagued with negative headlines since the financial crisis, MBAs are still turning to Goldman Sachs with the hope of finding a job.
While many people have criticized the firm's decision to allot $16.7 billion for bonuses after they received $10 billion from the government, it was still ranked the fourth most desirable place to work in a survey conducted on MBAs from December 2008, to March 2009, according to BusinessWeek.
Even though the bonuses have been making the headlines, MBAs are still going in with the knowledge that they won't be one of the lucky employees receiving them.
"I'm not looking at it for that $20 million bonus," MBA student Nicole Zenel told the news provider. "I'm more looking at it as an opportunity to work for a solid firm that has a track record of success."
One positive headline the firm has made in recent months is their partnership with Warren Buffet to offer financial assistance to 10,000 U.S. small businesses.
If you're interested in working for a large firm like Goldman Sachs, pursuing a finance MBA may be to your benefit, as many top-tier companies tend to look at education degrees and qualifications.
