A recent study by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) recently conducted a study to determine what the job market has been like for the MBA graduates of 2009.
According to the survey, three out of four MBA graduates had jobs upon graduation. However, upon further investigation by BusinessWeek, it was found that when it came to employment, it was an equal playing field. Individuals who may have performed better than their peers in their MBA programs may have not been able to find a job as quickly as the others.
The GMAC study also found that 83 percent of those employed worked for a corporation or firm and 7 percent were self-employed.
An MBA may also be a beneficial tool for receiving a salary raise. According to the respondents, about 50 percent who had already held a position received promotions, with 90 percent of those individuals also receiving extra compensation after completing an MBA program.
If you're interested in getting ahead in your company, it may be a good idea to pursue an MBA degree in order to show your managers that you're committed to boosting your qualifications and want to succeed.
