One MBA program is giving students some unique new perspectives as they develop their international business experience.
The Observer newspaper of Notre Dame University recently told the story of five MBA students who had gone to Bosnia as part of their "Business on the Frontlines" course. However, they ended up in the country at the height of the natural gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, which shut off gas supplies to a number of Eastern European nations and led to dangerously cold conditions for residents of many cities.
The newspaper notes that another group of students traveled to Beirut, Lebanon as part of the same program. The goal of the courses is reportedly to educate MBA students about what roles business can play in helping to stabilize and improve post-conflict societies.
This program may sound unique, but it is also one of many around the country that gives MBA students the opportunity to enhance their education in a different part of the world, often sharing some valuable business knowledge in return.
With an increasingly globalized marketplace and an economy that could be well on the way to recovery at this time next year, now may be the perfect time to consider studying for an MBA degree, either online or in a classroom setting.
