Despite many companies beginning to hire again, some are still slow to get back to recruiting. A number of MBA students are noticing that recruiting has gone down significantly since the start of the recession, and some are wondering what this means for life post-graduation.
Many MBA students are having mixed success with their job hunt, according to the Wall Street Journal. Although recruitment is up from 2009, there is still a hiring lull, and there are limited positions available in the corporations that do pay campus visits.
However, analysts have noticed that rotational positions are back in effect. This is when a worker transitions throughout different areas within the corporation such as finance, sales and operations. An MBA career services director told the news provider that 27 percent of students accepted rotational programs, whereas a typical average pre-recession was 18 percent.
There is hope on the horizon. With the April unemployment rate showing that the private sector created more than 260,000 jobs during the month, many analysts believe that hiring will be on the upswing soon enough.
