The environment continues to dictate the actions of various forms of business as many companies look to become energy efficient. Green MBAs are now a hot commodity among business school students.
The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) recently kicked off their third Climate Corps program, where they take top MBA students from around the country and place them into various companies to help develop energy efficient plans that will cut costs as well as benefit the environment.
Last year's group helped save companies more than $54 million by reducing their energy usage.
Some of the companies participating the Climate Corps program this year include eBay, McDonald's, Bloomberg, Target and Verizon.
"We're pleased to be a part of this worthwhile program, and have the student see our commitment to the environment in action," said Jerry Sus, senior director of development & strategic technology for McDonald's.
Students who are interested in helping the environment may want to consider enrolling in a green MBA program. These programs teach ways businesses can run with clean energy, as well as ways to cut costs by having a smaller carbon footprint.
