It's been no secret that the job market is not what it used to be. The national unemployment rate is 9.7 percent and millions of Americans are out of jobs. However, MBAs are staying positive and continuing their hunt, finding jobs with their help of their MBA programs.
Graduate recruiting is not what it used to be, according to The Wall Street Journal. Corporate recruiters have cut back on touring the country and reaching out to MBA graduates as their hiring allowance has been cut.
MBA programs are trying to ensure that their students receive a job upon graduation by using their own resources. According to Jackie Wilbur, an MBA senior director of career development, more students are starting to broaden their job search.
"One area that's really grabbing students' interest is consumer product companies, which include medical devices and clean energy technology, [which are growth areas]," Wilbur told the news provider.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, having an MBA may boost your chances of having a higher salary, as individuals who hold the degree tend to make a higher average salary compared to those with bachelor degrees.
