Some individuals who return to school to pursue an MBA degree do so in order to advance their careers in today's competitive job markets. If the results of a recent survey are anything to go by, it turns out that such a move may be highly beneficial to one's future professional life.
According to the Executive MBA Council's 2009 Student Exit Benchmarking Survey, a reported 97 percent of respondents said that their chosen MBA program "met or exceeded their expectations" in terms of how it has had a positive effect on their career.
A further 32 percent of students who completed an executive MBA program received a promotion in their line of work.
The Executive MBA Council director, Michael Desiderio, viewed the survey results in a positive light. "Raises and payback periods fluctuate with the economy. Despite these extraordinary times, the data is still very positive," he said.
Past students also reported salary increases, according to survey results. An average student's salary increased from $125,029 to $136,722 after completing the program and re-entering the workforce with executive MBA qualifications.
