MBA Offers Job-Hunting Advice To Other B-school Grads

The current economic climate in the U.S. and concerns among many Americans about their job security and how employable they are have caused one MBA to offer some advice.

Brent Humphries is a 37-year-old business school graduate who has worked as an IT contractor and has project management experience, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). He currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa, and is seeking employment.

Humphries says he created a strategy for developing his career by asking himself questions before beginning his hunt for a new job, reports the news source.

"In order to determine what course of action would be best, I needed to assess what skills and knowledge I could offer an employer, and figure out what opportunities would be available for me to apply those skills and knowledge," he blogged on WSJ.com.

Job hunting can become more effective when individuals develop their objectives thoroughly. For example, a graduate with a marketing MBA might decide that advertising is his or her favorite industry and only look for positions in this sector.

If you want to get a job in business, consider enrolling in a traditional or online MBA program today. The Department of Labor says the unemployment rate among people who have a professional degree is significantly lower than it is among individuals who have only a high school diploma.
