Many individuals strive to get an MBA degree because they feel that the esteemed degree may be able to help them with employment opportunities. In a time of economic uncertainty, having qualifications is becoming increasingly important for job seekers, as competition has grown increasingly tight.
A new survey by the MBA Career Services Council found that recruitment activity at MBA programs is beginning to increase, according to Columbus Business First. The survey found that on-campus recruiting increased 2 percent since this time last year, indicating that MBA students may have more opportunities than 2009 graduates.
Additionally, three-fifths of responding schools reported to seeing more job openings being posted compared to the economic market that 2009 graduates were left with.
Some of the industries with the strongest recruiting activity included energy, government, nonprofits, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. However, recruitment has dropped for consulting, investment banking and real estate.
If you're interested in boosting your job qualifications, an MBA degree may help you find employment. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for MBA degree holders is 3.9 percent.
