While statistics have proven that on average, MBAs make more money than those holding lesser degrees, a new study determined they also make better CEOs.
The Best Performing CEOs in the World was recently released by the Harvard Business Review, where CEOs were ranked by shareholder wealth, according to Basil and Spice.
The study consisted of 1,999 CEOs who started their positions no earlier than 1995, which prevented Microsoft's CEO Bill Gates and Oracle's Larry Ellison from being considered.
In a not-so surprising finding, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was ranked number one for the $150 billion growth in shareholder wealth. However, one notable finding was that CEOs with MBA degrees ranked, on average, 40 places higher than their peers who did not have the degree.
An MBA program could provide you with the leadership skills needed to run a company as well as make good business decisions. A CEO must have a strong sense of the practical and ethical reasoning needed to have success. Many companies tend to choose individuals who have the highest qualifications, which an MBA can help them achieve.
