In a common move in executive positions, an MBA was recently named the chief financial officer (CFO) for a software company.
David Buckel was appointed to the position for ANTs Software, a company that consolidates hardware to cut down customers' information technology (IT) cost.
Buckel has previous experience with the CFO position. He has served as a CFO for a number of different IT companies for more than 10 years. ANTs took notice of his extensive background and thought he would be a good fit for the position.
"David brings a specialized and unique industry background paired with valuable operational experience, which will strengthen the ANTs team and help us achieve our goals moving forward," said Joe Kozak, CEO of ANTs Software. "Over the past year, we have made selective and strategic additions to our company to bolster our core capabilities. David has exceptional experience as a CFO, and he is an incredibly valuable addition to our team."
A finance MBA could help you acquire a CFO position, as the program generally offers an extensive look into how to manage a company's finances.
