Ethics have become an important lesson to be taught in MBA programs, in response to the report by the Global Foundation for Management Education (GFME) which noted that business professionals and accountants were required in developing countries, a report says.
Business degrees are continuing to be popular in the US and overseas, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports, which may be welcome news for those of you considering whether it is worth researching MBA programs to further your career in business.
"We will be studying this [ethics] for eons," Susan Phillips, professor of finance and dean of the George Washington University School of Business tells the newspaper, a university which some of you may already know provides MBA programs.
And in light of the current economic downturn, ethics may be an even more important issue for those in business and who currently find themselves working in an era of acknowledgement for financial responsibility.
Phillips, Chair of the Ethics Education Task Force reported on by the GFME, previously said that business leaders need new guidelines on how to deal with a changing legal and compliance environment, a topic you may want to educate yourselves further in by looking at which MBA programs may be suitable.
