Many MBA programs are looking to diversify their students in order to give different perspectives to a class.
A number of business schools are looking to recruit military veterans into their MBA programs in the hope that they will bring a different way of thinking to lectures, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Some MBA administrators believe that military veterans learn a similar discipline in their training as they would in a business school.
"They automatically know how to work in a team and they have respect, an important characteristic for business schools," Stacy Blackman, an MBA admissions consultant, told the news source.
However, some military veterans are having a hard time paying the MBA tuition, which is why the government stepped in with the Post 9/11 GI Bill that increases the number of students who qualify for financial aid to attend a school of their choice.
