A new Wells Fargo/Gallup survey finds that small business owners are less optimistic than ever about their financial prospects in the current economy.
The survey found that small business owner optimism stands at a score of 10, down 35 points since the previous quarter of 2008. The survey has found small business entrepreneurs to be less and less optimistic since the middle of 2007.
"Despite the significant decrease in overall optimism, four of every five small business owners said they did not perceive credit as difficult to obtain," said Dr. Scott Anderson of Wells Fargo. Anderson went on to say that many business owners continue to report sufficient access to lines of credit, indicating that recent government efforts against the credit crunch are working at least somewhat.
The highest score ever recorded on the index was 114 in December of 2006, meaning it has dropped a total of 104 points in two years.
While many entrepreneurs are understandably worried about the economy, one way to become more competitive and acquire valuable new skills is to study for an MBA degree.
