Sometimes, individuals who have graduated from finance MBA programs get ahead in the sector because other executives notice their knowledge and qualifications. In addition, MBA programs are regarded as important degrees that people who are serious about the industry pursue.
Clay Deutsch, who has an MBA degree, was recently named the chief executive officer (CEO) and president for Boston Private Financial Holdings. He will take over the position on July 31, when the current title holder, Tim Vaill, steps down.
In addition to having an MBA degree, Deutsch is a veteran of the financial industry. Beginning his banking career in the 1970s, he began working for McKinsey in 1980, a company he stayed with up until this recent appointment.
"Boston Private announced in early 2009 that we would be making a change in 2010," Vaill said. "I am very pleased that we will make a smooth changeover and I couldn't be more pleased to see someone of Clay Deutsch's background, experience and stature pick up the baton and move the Company forward."
