A school's reputation is the most important factor for executive MBA students as they decide which programs to apply for, according to a recent survey.
In a recent Wall Street Journal survey of EMBA graduates, 51.1 percent said the top reason they chose their schools was because of reputation, far ahead of any other reasons.
The next leading factor that drew these students to their respective programs was the presence of distinguished faculty (9.8 percent) followed by the program's schedule (7.2 percent).
In other details from the survey, about a third of the graduates said they had paid their own educational costs, compared to 30 percent who said their employers had paid for the program, along with another 13 percent who received partial financial support from their companies.
Also, 24 percent of the graduates reported receiving raises and/or promotions since receiving their executive MBAs, while another 30 percent said they were expecting both within the next 12 months.
"The experience immediately improves critical decision-making skills, general business acumen and increases confidence," one unnamed executive was quoted by the Journal in regard to EMBA programs.
