Carol Buck is the founder of a foot and hair care company and she recently offered MBAs, entrepreneurs and other small business people some interesting advice.
Buck says that small company owners should consider accelerating their marketing efforts in spite of the recession. She says it's best to take a three-pronged approach to creating awareness of one's brand: tradeshows, free goods and rebates.
"With the economy soft, we have also been getting more requests to sponsor or send samples of our foot care products to charity events sponsored by a variety of organizations which also serves to build brand awareness, product purchase and conversion to loyal users, the last being the critical factor to a successful retail brand," said Buck.
If you have always been interested in founding your own company but have never tried because you do not have a business background, consider enrolling in an MBA program today. While pursuing an MBA degree, you could acquire the skills that many successful entrepreneurs use on a regular basis to compete in today's modern marketplace.
