A number of American educational institutions, especially in New England, are finding their online MBA program and other offerings to be increasingly popular with students from China.
If you are interested in pursuing an online MBA, your virtual classmates and perhaps future colleagues could be sitting on the other side of the world.
This week, the Boston Globe looked at efforts by a number of New England colleges to make potentially lucrative deals with Chinese universities for everything from bachelor's programs to MBA degrees.
The deals would range from exchange-type programs where students would work on degrees in both China and the United States, to programs that could be completed almost exclusively online.
"We see China as an opportunity to be an early player in what stands to be a very, very large market. I see this bubbling up all sorts of things," Southern New Hampshire University president Paul LeBlanc told the Globe.
The newspaper also noted that China is home to about 10 million graduating high school students, only about half of whom will end up in the Chinese national university system.
