Tom Fitzpatrick, who has an MBA degree, was recently appointed the chief financial officer (CFO) of Iridium Communications, a global mobile satellite service, according to CNN Money. The appointment comes as Eric Morrison, the current position holder, moves on to senior vice president of the company.
Fitzpatrick has experience in the CFO role, serving in the position for Centennial Communications Corporation from 2002 to 2009. During his tenure, the company saw a significant increase in revenue and profit. He has also served as CFO for ICG Commerce, Digital Access Incorporated and Bell Atlantic Corporation.
"Tom Fitzpatrick is a seasoned CFO who brings to Iridium a strong track record of experience leading finance and accounting organizations in public telecom companies, and he is a terrific addition to our management team," said Matt Desch, Iridium CEO.
