Pat Cathey, who holds an MBA degree, was recently appointed to vice president of Enterprise Sales for Rackspace Hosting, which is a global provider of cloud computing.
Cathey will be joining Rackspace after serving as the president of Avnet Electronics Embedded Solutions and also served as vice president of worldwide strategic alliances and Asia Pacific Operations for Web Gain.
Rackspace's executives believe that Cathey's large amount of experience in the technology industry will be beneficial to what they want to accomplish.

"Pat Cathey's experience and understanding of the IT needs and service expectations of enterprise customers will be a decisive accelerator for us in this market."
