Cathey will be joining Rackspace after serving as the president of Avnet Electronics Embedded Solutions and also served as vice president of worldwide strategic alliances and Asia Pacific Operations for Web Gain.
Rackspace's executives believe that Cathey's large amount of experience in the technology industry will be beneficial to what they want to accomplish.
