One of the effective tools that an MBA program can teach students is how to be an effective leader. By taking management classes, MBA students learn how to lead their peers and take charge in various situations. This characteristic can be a powerful tool in the working world.
Joseph Martore, who holds an MBA degree, was recently named the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of CALIBRE Systems. He was originally named president in December 2009 and served on the company's board of directors. He will be succeeding William DePuy, who is retiring from the position after being with the company for more than 21 years.
Martore has been with the company for six years, after an acquisition of Strategic Management Initiatives, where he served as president and CEO.
"Joe Martore has proven himself to be a highly effective manager and leader during his six years at CALIBRE," said lieutenant general Tom Carney. "His depth of knowledge of our services and products, our market and our company is invaluable. We are confident that he is the right person to take the company into the future."
An MBA degree could give you the knowledge you need to hold an executive position.
