The economic crisis has put the government in charge of many corporations and business endeavors recently. Because of this, MBA programs are changing their lesson plans to adapt to the current model of business.

Many MBA programs are trying to educate their students in public policy as the government has a large control over the business world, according to BusinessWeek. These courses have become very popular among MBAs, who are looking to educate themselves in every corporate aspect possible.

Academic insiders believe that the growing interest in public policy classes could potentially make students stronger businessmen.

"Throughout history, the role of government in determining whether an economy will be successful can hardly be overstated," Kermit Schoenholtz, an MBA professor, told the news provider. "Understanding government and policy will help you be a better businessperson."

Some MBAs are also interested in public policy issues because of their intention to start a nonprofit organization or try to make the world a better place.

According to The New York Times, many MBA programs have also begun incorporating more international classes as globalization becomes a huge part of the business market.
