Washington State University decides this week whether or not to offer an online MBA program which would begin in the fall. If approved, it would be the only online MBA degree from a state-funded university in the Northwest, according to school officials.
"I think its the perfect time," David Sprott, associate dean of WSU graduate programs said in an interview in the Spokane Spokesman-Review. He went on to say that online graduate programs are becoming more popular as they offer options to people who cannot move near a campus or are currently in a job.
One of the possible instructors for the proposed course, Mark Fuller, chair of the WSU Department of Information Systems, pointed out to the news service that in an economic downturn, many people return to school in order to add new skills.
WSU has had an online Bachelors degree in business administration since 1997, said Fuller, adding that the appeal of an online program is that it allows students to take courses at any time, which means the number of part-time students is likely to be high.
If the chance to add to your career skills from anywhere in the country at your own pace sounds appealing, you might want to consider an MBA degree online.
