Bethel College, based in Tennessee, is transforming itself with a new charter and name to become Bethel University, a process which will cost $20 million and require expanding the school's campus. The change comes after 10 years of consistently growing enrollment.
"We've got over 2,600 students so we needed to move to a different structure with individual colleges in a university system to manage it all," said Stephen Prosser, assistant to the president for infrastructure at Bethel, reports the Memphis Business Journal.
Bethel began an online MBA program in November 2007 with 46 students and it has already become the second largest in the state, with 260 students enrolling for a distance learning MBA last fall, according to the Journal.
Bethel says their MBA program is specifically designed for working adults seeking to further their education. It offers the chance to get your MBA degree online, or the ability to study at one of five satellite campuses as well as the main campus in McKenzie.
The flexible self-paced approach of an online MBA degree is an excellent option for someone trying to balance their work life, family life, and education.
