One trend in European MBA programs finds students thriving in smaller group settings.
A recent report by London's Financial Times newspaper observes that among some prominent European MBA programs, the University of Dublin's Trinity College has 30 participants, while the University of Bath (England) has a similar number and the Audencia Nantes Business School in France admits only 25 at a time.
"The small class size makes it inevitable that you get a lot of personal attention. The downside is that there is nowhere to hide. It's no holiday," Vincent Dooley of Trinity College School of Business Studies told the newspaper.
The smaller programs are said to benefit students in a variety of ways, from emphasizing collaboration over competition to providing better access to instructors, particularly those who may not be as prone to speaking out in classes. Other benefits reportedly include superior "people skills" and "uncompromised employability."
Another option prospective students can consider is to work towards an online MBA. These programs offer considerable financial savings while still providing a solid education and plenty of access to instructors.
