Individuals who are currently working towards their MBA degree are hopeful about their future in the business world in spite of the recent recession, according to a recent survey.
Manhattan GMAT,a national test preparatory firm, asked those preparing to take the GMAT exam to explain their feelings about where they felt their qualifications would take them, and how difficult it would be to obtain a job with their MBA.
Most respondents, 72 percent, felt stable in their current job position while 82 percent were currently in full-time jobs, dispelling at least part of the myth that all those on an MBA track were there due to unemployment or recession worries.
Other participants are optimistic about their post-MBA careers, with 60 percent indicating they believe the economy will improve by the time they have their MBA degree, and 55 percent think their compensation will be better.
In addition, 56 percent of respondents hope to use their MBA degrees to work in fields outside of consulting and finance, perhaps following more socially aware, nonprofit routes as recently outlined by Business Week.
This survey highlighted the fact that there are many MBA programs around the country and online, meaning that it's a great time to pursue an MBA degree.
