An MBA degree doesn't always lead to a position in a financial services company or an auditing firm, and Marie Denee's career is proof.
After Denee finished her MBA in 2008, she decided to use her new business education to start The Curvy Fashionista - an online plus-size boutique based in Oakland, California, according to NBC. Now she offers plus-size women clothing that ranges from sophisticated to edgy.
"When I finished my degree I realized I have all this valuable information that I need to share," she told the news source. "Women would ask me why there aren't fashionable clothes in their size."
In addition to the skills she obtained while in business school, Denee started her online boutique with 11 years of retail experience, according to her website. "As a curvy woman myself, I want the same level of quality you see in high-end stores to come in my size."
If you are looking to take control of your professional future, enrolling in a traditional or online MBA program might be the right place to start.
