When going through the MBA admissions process, individuals may want to take extra measures to make sure that their application stands out. However, it's important that one makes sure that they distinguish themselves for the right reasons.
Some MBA programs are starting to use software that can detect plagiarism, according to USA Today. The news provider reports that one MBA program in particular noticed that more than 30 applicants submitted this year had plagiarized passages in the required essays.
The software reviews work submitted by applicants and then consults a database to ensure that stories do not overlap with each other. The database will explore other papers as well as various websites and other publications.
"We are using the service with the MBA program to establish the process and best practices," said Carrie Marcinkevage, MBA admissions director of a program using the software. "During our tests we've used it to confirm existing cases and find new examples we hadn't found before."
If you're interested in applying to an MBA program, just make sure that your application is in order.
