As a direct result of the financial turmoil, the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) has hired its first PR firm to boost its reputation, it has been reported.

You may be interested to hear that according to PR Week, GS Schwartz had been chosen as the company which is expected to target financial outlets and to provide outreach for the group's accreditation programme.

Speaking to the communications resource, Greg Winsper, Global Head of marketing and business development at GARP, says that not only do they want to raise awareness, but also "to be part of the dialogue that is occurring in how regulation is changing. Risk management is becoming so much more important as things are heading into 2009 and beyond".

Winsper's comments may convince you that an online communications MBA could be the right path to take in order to make sure you are prepared for the risk management sector expected to be at the fore next year.

It had been previously noted, as you may remember, that September 11th 2001 highlighted the need for affective and efficient internal communications - a skill which could be learnt on an MBA course - on a Business Week blog written by Carmine Gallo.
