MBA students typically have to complete a case study that is relevant to current events that are affecting the business industry. With the auto market looking to revamp its offerings, some companies are turning to MBAs for ideas on how to improve their offerings.
More than 100 MBA students were asked for advice on how General Motors could market their new fuel cell vehicles, according to Buffalo News. The company plans to start producing a car powered by hydrogen by 2015 and is looking for ideas on how to mass market it.
Some of the MBA students who are participating in the project believe that they are doing a service to the company and are happy to put in their opinion.
"We feel that our opinion matters, we are working on a real thing," MBA student, Marta Nyeso, told the news provider. "We could really contribute. Who knows, maybe if we come up with very good ideas, we're going to see them implemented in a couple of years."
Participating in an MBA program may also give you connections to the companies that you are teamed up with for case studies. Sometimes these projects can provide many networking opportunities.
