Some American students are reportedly finding advantages to earning their MBA degrees overseas.
A recent report on the Wall Street Journal website notes that some students are opting for programs in places like Spain and France. One reason is said to be the shorter programs offered by European institutions, 10 to 16 months, which can allow for more cost savings in the long run.
International business experience is also increasingly an asset for MBA students everywhere.
"Students think to themselves, 'How do I internationalize myself?' One signal of that to employers is that you are willing to get your degree in another country," Christopher McKenna of Oxford University told the Wall Street Journal.
The report also noted that some schools like Oxford and IMD in Switzerland have seen an upswing in interest from Americans and are stepping up their recruitment efforts with that in mind, especially since some job markets overseas are currently better than many of their American financial counterparts.
