The president of a business that specializes in creating unique gift baskets was honored by a national organization, which will assist her to expand her business further.
Debra Simonette, president of Creative Gifting, was recently accepted as a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), which describes itself as an exclusive association of female executives, professionals and entrepreneurs in the U.S., according to the association.
"The National Association of Professional Women is made up of some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business women in the country," said Simonette. "My membership will enable me to network and interact with other women business leaders, and learn how to be even more successful in my business."
This may be good news for female business professionals or students seeking their MBA degree, especially since a recent Catalyst survey found professional women were still being held back by gender biases within some corporations.
For women who are drawn to the business world, this may be a cue to look into an MBA program at various universities or research getting an online MBA degree if it is more convenient.
