MBA students are putting their knowledge to the test to see how much they've learned in their program.
Teams of MBA students representing various business schools are competing against each other to match wits in a case study competition in Toronto, according to the Financial Post.
The Financial Executives International event will be taking place for the fourth year in a row in Canada and is only open to MBA students.
Officials believe that these kinds of competitions are crucial to the MBA program experience, as they allow students to use their knowledge in a viable setting. Some feel that this will give students a firsthand look into what it's like to think on their toes in the business world.
Don Schroeder, president of Tim Hortons, believes that it's good that the students don't know what problem they're going to get until the competition starts, making it impossible to prepare ahead of time.
"It was a great package of skills that they were able to demonstrate and will be very useful to them when they enter the business world," Schroeder told the news provider. "In real life, you don't get to pick the problem, the problem picks you."
Having an MBA may put you in prestigious company. According to the most recent findings from the U.S. Census, 10.1 percent of American households have at least one MBA degree holder.
