Despite the economy showing slight signs of improvement, many individuals are still looking to further their education by enrolling in grad schools and MBA programs.
Applications for graduate schools and MBA programs are coming in droves as more students are looking to advance their qualifications in order to succeed in the job market, according to Crain's Cleveland Business.
"When the economy is in crisis, graduate enrollment goes up because people see that as a way of rebranding themselves and advancing their careers," Mark Storz, who works in a graduate studies program, told the news provider.
Some higher education institutions have seen up to a 40 percent increase in applications for their various graduate programs, indicating that many people are serious about earning a higher degree. Several analysts believe that this trend is in large part due to the current state of the economy.
Those who are thinking that they may have a greater chance at landing a job because of their MBA degree may be right. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the higher degree one holds, the less of a chance they have at unemployment.
